10 ways to make meal planning easier

There is only one New Year Resolution that I have stuck to this year and it’s been meal planning. Last year I tried it and was only 50% successful thanks to a busy lifestyle and discovering the best ever kebab shop around the corner from us, thanks Just Eat! This year we have become the couple that no longer spontaneously go out for meals because “I’ve already got Tuesday’s dinner in” but you know what? I’m so secretly proud of myself for actually smashing one New Year’s Resolution. In case you fancy becoming a hermit and eating in all winter, here are some tips to get you started along the…

    You’re fired!

Yesterday was fun. Myself and the rest of my department were made redundant. I started this new job back in July. It was supposed to be my new career after a life of being a professional dancer/choreographer. I was getting fed up with never being at home, always working, no pension, no paid holidays, no security(!) Instead, it turned out to be a short-lived career full of disappointment, a gain in weight and a life lesson. Before this job, I had been self-employed for most of my working life, and now having worked in a “9 to 5” I can honestly say that  I am not made for that life.…

    Festival Themed Make up

I was wandering around Primark last week and found a packet of festival face gems, they looked so interesting that I had to buy them. Next thing I know, I’m at home filming a video with a glittery purple and pink eye and gluing gems to my face. It turned out quite well actually, check out the video below and let me know your thoughts. Much Love, BBB x

    Asos, Missguided & Zara haul

I’ve been shopping! My wardrobe badly needed updating and an injection of colour as it was drab, miserable and black. Plus, I haven’t bought anything new since Autumn so it was needed. As usual I headed to Zara because, well, it’s like THE best high street shop and of course ASOS. No explanation needed. I managed to find some perfect bits for Spring and I’ve brought all of these together in one haul video for you. How nice am I?! You are so welcome. All links to clothes are below* Zara Flamingo T shirt White dress ZARA : Out of stock Zara white cheesecloth blouse Zara floral bodysuit, sold out…

There’s no business like show business

I feel like I could talk about my life as a dancer for hours. I’ve been super lucky to have worked as a dancer for around 14 years (badly showing my age here). I have travelled the world, met my husband and made some lifelong friends along the way. It’s been a crazy, emotional, thrilling, tiring, draining and skint journey but I have loved every second of it. I’m going to try and share some of the ups and downs of my career as I feel like it’s coming to a natural end now due to me nearly being grown up and having responsibilities (house, husband and cat!). Dancing was…

    Barcelona, Bustle, Buzz & Beauty.

Barcelona is a cosmopolitan and vibrant city, which is thriving with culture, art and stunning architecture. A visit here is a must as there is plenty to keep you entertained and inspired. From the shimmering views of the Mediterranean sea from the beautiful beaches, to the mouth watering Tapas style cuisine on offer and shopping opportunities galore there is certainly something for everyone. It’s one of my favourite cities to visit as it’s only a couple of hours away from us in the UK. It’s a total mix of beach and city and you can literally have the best of both worlds. The city itself is pretty easy to get…

All about food and meal prep

Since spending January rewatching Friends on Netflix I have discovered that I am Monica. I always knew I connected with her on some level but it turns out, I am actually her. My husband even bought me a label maker for Christmas, and it was my favourite present! So today I thought I would fully embrace the Monica in me and bring you a blog post all about how I plan our meals. I am the main organiser, cook and shopper in our household. There are only 2 of us that live here and if my husband had to do it we would starve to death. So, every Saturday I…

10 Things I’ve learnt from being a driver

It’s nearly been a year since I passed my driving test and what a year it’s been. I never thought I would be a driver. I just didn’t have the urge to drive as most other people did. I excelled at being a passenger. I was a great passenger, I never got road rage or got mad at people for stealing our car park spaces. That never happened. Honest(!) So at the tender age of 32 I passed my driving test on my 2nd attempt. I’m not bitter that I didn’t pass first time, really, (LIE), this is the first time that I’ve spoken about it without flying into a…

    Resolutions for 2017

I don’t usually make new years resolutions….Well I start the right way and in December I start planning all the amazing changes I want to make to my life; such as have more money, join a gym, eat healthier home cooked meals. However, by the end of January they are a distant memory and by February they might as well have not even existed! The problem is, I find I make resolutions that aren’t attainable. I kinda go all out and expect myself to become this amazing life coach with great organisational skills, that is cooking home cooked meals every day whilst doing as much exercise as an Olympian. Let’s be…

    #Kilnerpopup at Rex Liverpool

So last night I was invited to the Kilner Pop Up event at Rex in Liverpool. I’m a huge fan of the Kilner range. I have an unhealthy amount of their preserve jars for the huge amount of chutneys I make for xmas presents for my family so this inviation was very much appreciated. Kilner were showcasing their new range of products for 2017 and there was also a huge amount of drinks and snacks (thanks to Bakchick and the Chocolate Cellar) and Kilners amazing Freakshakes to marvel over. All the staff at the Kilner event were so passionate about their products and they are actually some of the research and…

    Autumn Beauty Essentials

Hey, So today I’m going to talk to you about my Autumn Beauty Essentials. I’m slightly late in posting this as today is Nov 1st but I think we are still in the season of Autumn (Winter starts in December right?!). So Autumn, the time of year where the leaves fall to the ground, the air turns a tad crisper and the dark nights begin. Where your skin gets drier, flaky and dehydrated and your lips are chapped and rough. Yes that time of year were we introduce body butters and thick, heavy-duty moisturisers into our beauty routines and I’m going to tell you my favourites. Let’s start with skin…

    Microdermabrasion and Review

Hey Guys, So today’s blog is going to be about the scary world of Microdermabrasion! So what actually is Microdermabrasion??? “Microdermabrasion is a light cosmetic procedure that uses a mechanical medium for exfoliation to gently remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the epidermis”. -Wikipedia Basically it is a deep exfoliator which also helps with the refining of skin surface and retexturising of the skin. Regular microdermabrasion treatment can help reduce or eliminate the wrinkles and fine lines, those pesky crows’ feet, age spots, light acne scars, and undesired pigmentation that may appear on the skin over time. Now every evening I usually gently exfoliate my face as I’m taking off my make up with…

    A little slice of Heaven

So a couple of weeks ago my husband and I decided to go on our belated honeymoon. I picked our destination a mere 4 years ago when we were originally planning our wedding. The hotel stayed firmly at the forefront of my mind and was my go-to dream whenever I needed an escape from reality. So after being married for 4 years come September 2016 we were finally in a position to check this amazing place out for ourselves. So where is this magical destination I hear you ask? Well it’s on the Rivera Maya on Mexico’s Caribbean coastline and it’s called El Dorado Royale Casitas (link below). Just 25…

    Why I love January

I wouldn’t go as far as saying that January is my favorite month, I mean…come on. But it’s pretty high up there as much as June, July, September is (best month, next best month until the kids break up and my anniversary month!) It’s a month of new. New body. New habits. New notebooks. New resolutions and new socks (thanks Mum). I love the freshness, the positivity that everyone has in the first 3 days of the year. Everyone is a bit skint so there are some fantastic offers on and you give your liver a chance to recoup from that massive dent you put in that bottle of gin. …
